Mercury TheaterThe Mercury Theater reached out to me to create their outdoor signage for their current show, Little Shop of Horrors. I concepted, illustrated and designed CTA signage for buses, and also signs that are taking over the Southport train stop. Additional supporting signage is in the theater windows, and also at local shops and cafes, and also online as banner ads. Thank you, Mitch and Aiden for modeling and snapping this pic of my Mercury Theater poster out in the wild! M&M MarsM&M Mars was one of my biggest clients! I worked across many brands including Starburst, Twix, Milky Way, Dove, Snickers, M&M's, and Milky Way. My focus was on new product launches, tie-in partnerships, broad-brush national promotions which encompassed violators for packaging, POP, licensing tie-ins, FSIs, and sales materials like sellsheets and press kits. I also worked on press conferences and sampling events. Here are some great examples of my concept drawings for a series of fun elements to promote the M&M's cookie sandwich launch. tic tacAnother one of my more recent projects was to create multiple elements for a tic tac back-to-school promotion. I brainstormed and concepted on a traveling sampling event for their tic tac My Pack promotional tour. I also concepted and designed POP elements, tear sheets, coupons, and also the My Pack logo for the sampling events. The My Pack traveling tour would set up a booth at music and entertainment venues and people could pick their flavors and customize their tic tac pack labels. SharpieI was asked to jump on board to help out with the new business pitch for Sharpie, since my creative directors knew what an avid illustrator and doodler I am! So I created this graphic using nothing but Sharpies that was used in the pitch book, and I also hand-illustrated a pair of Converse sneakers entirely with red Sharpie. The shoes were gifted to the client, and we ended up winning the business! United States Postal ServiceAnother one of my biggest accounts was the USPS. When our agency had them as a client, the post office was taking more chances on exciting in-store displays and signage to breathe some new life into their brand. Not only did I concept on and create several award-winning promotional campaigns, but I also helped to brainstorm for ways to make the post office experience easier and more enjoyable and engaging. Many of the promotions were directly tied into new stamp releases and related events surrounding them. USPS Virtual Kiss PromotionSinatra Style PromotionEbay Live EventAnother gallery showcasing my brainstorming and pencil sketching/hand drawing ability! I came up with several concepts for commemorative enamel pins for the eBay Live events that the Post Office attended and sponsored every year. The final images in this gallery show the designs that was picked in its final form. Ironically, I did NOT design the pin for the Chicago show! I only designed the flyer that year. Priority Mail Flat Rate Awareness PromotionExpress Mail Awareness CampaignUSPS APC PromotionUSPS Star Wars Promotional POPDel Monte Pet FoodsThis was another big new business pitch that I was part of, and that the agency won. I worked on multiple smaller scale projects for brands like Snausages, 9 Lives, Meow Mix, Kibbles 'n Bits, Meaty Bone, Milk Bone and Nature's Recipe. My responsibilities included designing IRCs, FSIs, and I also attended two animal photoshoots out in LA, working with our sister agency there on the west coast. I learned a lot about art directing dogs and cats in still photography! I ended up taking over the concepting and design on all the elements of Nature's Recipe and became the main creative on that brand. Nature's RecipeThis showcases a broad range of elements that I worked on for the Nature's Recipe dogfood brand. The client wanted to create interest and help educate the customers on the natural aspect of the brand, and how that positively impacted pets and owners. For this nationwide sampling event, I created a standee, tabletop signage with a take away brochure, tshirts for the brand ambassadors, and even the table drapes, and the premiums that were given away at the events, along with samples for the dogs to taste at retail. Meaty Bone National FSIThis is a classic example of my desire to push the envelope visually to playfully express the core benefits of a product! The client said that it was a very creative way to convey the signature tastiness of the product, which was a dog biscuit that was glazed in a savory gravy. They said they'd never seen anything like this, but they loved it! allimy story, my alli national promotionalli Promotional POPLove Me Tenders Social MediaSweet P ConfectionsLogo Designs

I have always loved animals, and I've also loved drawing them from a very early age! One of the very first things I ever drew was a bear coming out of a cave... As the years have passed, and my skill set has grown, my pet portraits have just naturally evolved into something magical. I strive to capture the essence and soul of each pet that I draw. Many of my portraits are memorials of beloved pets that have passed, or capture a moment in time, like that sweet and adorable puppy phase, or even incorporate some of their favorite things, places, seasons, and even their owners! I feel honored to capture them and bring them to life for their pet parents! I also have a very unique way of drawing. I use Prismacolor pencils, and I've honed some techniques that make my drawings look like well-burnished paintings, with vivid color and detail being trademarks of my style.
When Basil Gogos accepted my friend request on facebook, I must admit I did a whole lot of squeee-ing and fan-girling all over my computer screen! To me, he was a living legend, and it warmed my heart to know that he was still out there doing his thing and creating the art that so inspired me throughout my life! Years ago I bought a book of his collected works, and it's still one of my favorites. No one else captured my favorite monsters like he did with his use of color and light. His work has so heavily influenced and inspired me, and I idolize him. I only wish I had been able to meet him in the flesh... RIP, Mr. Gogos... your mad talent will be sorely missed down here on earth.
Just a random observation: In years when armed conflict seems to loom large, camo becomes hot in the fashion world... and I have to say, I kind of love it myself. Not the threat of armed conflict or nuclear armageddon, noooo... but I do enjoy dressing in a post-apocalyptic, Mad Max meets Blade Runner, meets Arnold Schwarzenegger in Predator-chic style! Ha!!!
https://www.vogue.com/article/versace-spring-2016-trends-camouflage http://www.instyle.com/fashion/shop-17-standout-camo-pieces-inspired-runway#359392 I've got a brand new website in the works, and it's launching tomorrow!!! It's just in its infancy, but with Halloween and the gift-giving season approaching, I wanted to go live with it sooner than later! There's even bigger and better things to come, and I feel like an old dog learning new tricks... but it's gonna be cool! ( I hope...)
I wanted to create this blog as a little window into my world. Who am I? What defines me? What inspires me? What makes me tick? This will be the place to be to take a peek inside.
